Off across the sea!

So its time to stretch our wings outside of US borders again! We haven't been on an international trip since our wedding and honeymoon. On Wednesday we are off to Ireland and Spain for 3 weeks! We are going to fly into Dublin first and visit with my mom. Then onto Barcelona for a week to hang out with Eric's little sis Sara who is studying there. From there, back to west of Ireland to stay with Eric's mom at her place in Clifden- gorgeous place!

So Finn will get a chance to take a big pre-birth trip and it will be pretty nice for us too! Hes been kicking more and more. Its pretty cool and totally weird!

Also, I just ordered this little thing called a lullabelly- its a belly band that holds your ipod and plays music to the baby through a little speaker. Introduced him to some G and R! And classical music too.

Check back for pics from Ireland and Spain! A, E, and F.

Baby stuff madness?!

So I have started asking friends lately what I will need for Mr. Finn. The con cesnsus is generally that you don't need nearly what you think you will, the baby industry is a big rip-off, and don't get sucked in! I think its a little too late, I have gotten a bit excited about all the shiny and spin-y options. Anyway, I thought I would share some MUST HAVES that have been suggested, and see what you all think! Must we have them??

For the nursery:

The Badger Basket Sleigh Style Changing Table

Graco imonitor Baby Video Monitor. Supposed to be all 21 century and pretty cool!

And a handy dandy Arm's Reach Cosleeper for the first months. Eric is building the crib isn't that cool?? So crafty that boy. Like Yoda talk do I.

A bag is important for diapers and junk, and it will be the new purse. So it can be pretty! Petunia Pickle Bottom Rhone Blooms Boxy Backpack.
A little later the kid will need to eat some solid foods. I love this high chair we got for Mihr and Sylas, she says its working out quite nicely:

The Svan Wooden High Chair in Mahogony.

And we need to move the lil worm around:
A gnarly stroller, this is the BOB Revolution Jogging Stroller. Since I am a runner and woudl like to start with the kid right away, I will need one of these:The BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter. And into it must go:

The Graco Snugride Infant Car Seat.

So that's the "transportation system" I guess. So far so good? Also recommend are carrying devices of varying types such as:

Deuter Kid Comfort II Baby or Child Back and the Ergo Carrier

That's just the beginning, there's also play mats, blankets, bottles, breast feeding stuff, swaddly things, health supplies, and toys. Oh and clothes that the lil monkey will grow out of every day! Wow this is going to be fun!

20 weeks and pictures!

Well, we had an awesome morning here in Colorado! We went in for the 20 week ultrasound, and it was amazing! Finn has gotten so much bigger, and everything still looks perfect with him!

This ultrasound was also diagnostic, as the nurse took measurements of various body parts to ascertain his current weight, and whether he was developing normally. She also checked out all of his organs, including his perfect 4 chambered heart, still beating at 150 bpm, he stomach, kidneys and even his big old brain!

The really amazing part though was the 3D feature on this utrasound machine! He cooperated with us and was lying on his back with his face up, so we got a great look at him sucking his thumb, taking a nap, yawning, and generally looking amazingly cute and beautiful!

Check them out here: http://picasaweb.google.com/flywaldo/TheWeaselAkaFinnWalden#

There is a movie too, but I'll have to post that one later.

All in all, an amazing thing to witness, and confirmation that Alex and I are so lucky and blessed to have this opportunity to bring such an amazing life into the world and be responsible for making him a man! See you soon buddy, it is going to be GREAT!

Eric, Alex, and Finn!

2009- the year in review!

What a year what a year! 2009 brought tons of fun for the Waldens, as usual!
We started out with some snow action, snowboarding all over Colorado, snow-shoeing, and generally loving the outdoors.

In March I made a trip to Cancun for a classic Mexico bachelorette party for Julie's last days as a single lady- wow, that was probably all I need of that place for a lifetime!

April brought Crossfit Qualifiers for Eric in Virginia.- he was amazing- and inspired me to start my Crossfit journey!

We spent the rest of the time back East going to my 10 yr HS reunion and Julie and Clint's wedding in Charleston, SC.

Summer was epic! Our annual trip to Telluride, camping, lots of horse time for Alex, (She spent her days preparing for her certification as therapeutic riding instructor) and our week on the Green river, Desolation Canyon, Utah!

Another trip back to VA (yes we love that place!), visiting with family, the Outer Banks, and Eric's 35th in NYC rounded out the fall

Oh yes and it was on that trip was that we discovered this little development:

Lets see, winter was holiday-tastic, and far from over! Halloween here with Eric, early Thanksgiving in VA, and Christmas with the wonderful Daumlers in Colorado.

Well Happy New Year to you all- We know it will be an exciting one for this family, and we'll try our best to share it all as it comes!
xoxo, Eric, Alex, Molly, and Finn-Weasel
